Plans Filed For 18-Story, 27-Apartment Tower On Upper East Side

The new Upper East Side development will also include space for a retail store on the first floor and cellar.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Plans have been filed with the city Department of Buildings to construct an 18-story, mixed-use tower on the Upper East Side. The new development will be built on First Avenue between East 85th and 86th streets, according to the building plans.

A company named First Avenue LLC filed the plans to build the 200-foot development with the DOB a week ago and the plans are still under review. The new development would contain 27 apartment units and 35,476 square feet of residential space, which means the average apartment would be a spacious 1,313 square feet.

The building plans also call for 1,983 square feet of commercial space, which would assume the form of a two-story retail space in the building's first floor and cellar.

Building plans don't show much in the works for building amenities, with the sole non-residential or non-utility space coming in the form of a recreation room on the building's second floor.

The building site is currently occupied by low-rise buildings. Demolition plans have not been filed.
