Luxury Building With Just 15 Apts Will Tower 20 Stories Over UES
The building will also feature ground-floor commercial space.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings for a new 20-story apartment tower on the Upper East Side.
The development will rise 208-feet-tall on 1230 Madison Ave, located between East 88th and 89th streets, according to building plans. Despite its size, the development will only contain 15 apartment units. With 51,909 square feet zoned for residential use the average apartment will be about 3,460 square feet large.
Planned amenities include bicycle storage space, storage for residential tenants and a party room, according to building plans. The development will also feature a ground-floor, 3,837-square-foot retail space.

The building plans were filed by the Real Estate Equities Corporation and plans list SLCE Architects as the building's designer. Demolition permits were filed last year for a one-story building at the site of the new development.
