Builders from Virginia filed an application to construct a 44,432-square-foot self storage facility on the Upper East Side.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A Virginia-based construction company has filed plans with the city Department of Buildings for a six-story self-storage facility on the Upper East Side.

The new building, located on East 92nd Street between 1st and York avenues, would rise 85 feet high and span 44,432 square feet of floor area, according to building plans. Of those 44,432 square feet, 35,790 will be zoned for commercial use, according to the plans.

Every floor of the six-story building, except for the first floor, will be entirely dedicated to storage space, according to building plans. In addition to storage, the building's first floor will include a lobby, offices, two parking spaces and a loading dock, according to plans.
