UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — United States Treasury Secratary Steven Mnuchin has listed his Upper East Side duplex in one of the city's most prestigious addresses for sale for the hefty sum of $32.5 million, according to real estate listings and reports.

The duplex is located on the eighth and ninth floors of 740 Park Ave, which was dubbed the "World's Richest Apartment Building" in a 2006 book penned by non-fiction author Michael Gross, according to a listing with Warburg. The Wall Street Journal first linked the property to Mnuchin and reported that the swanky apartment has been in the treasury secretary's family for decades."

Public real estate records from 2014 show that Mnuchin is the sole owner of the apartment. The former film producer and hedge funder bought the property outright in 2000, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom duplex features a private elevator landing, working wood-burning fireplaces, redone hardwood floors and centralized lighting and sound systems, according to real estate listings.

Mnuchin is selling the home because his job keeps him in Washington D.C., the Wall Street Journal reported. The U.S. treasury secretary and his wife, Scottish actress Louise Linton, moved into a $12.6 million D.C. home in the ritzy Massachusetts Heights neighborhood, the Washington Post reported in 2017.
