UES Councilmember Wants To Help You Get Your Vaccine
A new program from Keith Powers's office aims to answer residents' questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and help them schedule appointments.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Amid a vaccine rollout that has left some New Yorkers puzzled and unable to schedule appointments, an Upper East Side lawmaker is launching a new program to keep the neighborhood informed.
Dubbed "Your Shot," the program from City Councilmember Keith Powers's office aims to help residents determine their eligibility, answer their questions and make appointments.
It consists of a form that residents can fill out to list any questions they have about the COVID-19 vaccine and indicate whether they need help signing up — or would like to volunteer to help others.

"Since launching Your Shot, we have heard from dozens of constituents and volunteers interested in receiving help or pitching in themselves," said Liz Peters, a spokesperson for Powers.
Most of the responses so far have been from people seeking help making an appointment or wondering where to sign up, Peters said. People who say they need help will be contacted by Powers's staff.

Vaccine appointments can be booked online at nyc.gov/vaccinefinder, or vax4nyc.nyc.gov for the city-run vaccine hubs.
Vaccines are currently open to New Yorkers who have pre-existing conditions or are age 65 and older, as well as health care workers, nursing home residents and a few other select groups.
Constituents can also reach Powers's office at 212-818-0580, by email at kpowers@council.nyc.gov, or read his office's Vaccine FAQ.
Since 2017, Powers has represented District 4, which includes Carnegie Hill, Central Park South, much of Midtown and Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village.
