UES Zip Code 1 Of NYC's Priciest In First Half Of 2019: Study
The median price of 41 home sales in the zip code 10028 was $2,500,000 during the first six months of 2019.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — One of the Upper East Side's zip codes earned top 10 honors in a new study of the city's priciest postal codes for the first half on 2019.
The median sale of a home in the 10028 zip code was $2.5 million out of 41 total home sales between Jan. 1 and June 30, making in the sixth most expensive zip in the city, according to a recent study by real estate listing site PropertyClub. The zip code, which spans the area between East 80th and 87th street, was the only area above 42nd Street to crack the city's top 10.
Other Upper East Side zip codes also showed well in PropertyClub's rankings. The zip code 10128 was ranked No. 17 with a median sales price of $1.68 million on 151 sales, 10075 was ranked No. 29 with a median of $1.3 million on 58 sales and 10021 was ranked No. 31 with a median of $1.28 million on 106 sales.

Broken down by Borough, PropertyClub's study was dominated by Manhattan and Brooklyn. Manhattan had 40 zip codes make the top 100 list and 17 of those were ranked in the top 20. The median home sale for the borough was $1.68 million. Brooklyn came in second with 30 zip codes in the top 100 and a median sales price of $950,000.
Queens had the most expensive zip code located outside of Manhattan — Long Island City's 11109 — but fell behind Brooklyn with only 28 zip codes in the top 100 at a median price of$780,000. The Bronx had only 2 zip codes in the study and Staten Island had none.

Researchers from PropertyClub compiled the study using New York City Department of Finance data on home sales. The study analyzed sales numbers for all condominiums, co-ops, single- and two-family homes so long as they met the minimum sales price of $1,000. Sales with no disclosed dollar values were not included in the study.
