Upper East Side Citibank Branch to Expand Six Stories, Add 4 Apartments

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Four brand new large apartments are coming to Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side.
Plans were filed this week with the New York City Department of Buildings to turn a two-story Citibank branch into an eight-story multi use property. According to the building plans the second floor of the existing building will be converted for residential use and six new floors would be built atop the existing structure. The plans would also include demolition work on the cellar, first and second floors.

The finished building would contain four apartments, according to the filed plans. The plans list the area zoned for residential use as 14,932 square feet. For four apartments that's an average of 3,733 square feet.
