Upper East Side Pharmacies To Vaccinate Seniors For Coronavirus

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Pharmacies on the Upper East Side are among more than 250 pharmacy locations across the city that are now administering COVID-19 vaccines to seniors.

Thirteen Upper East Side pharmacies are offering vaccination appointments to anyone 65 and older as part of a federal program.

Participating pharmacies in the neighborhood include:

• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 773 Lexington Ave. (at East 60th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1191 Second Ave. (at East 63rd Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1328 Second Ave. (at East 70th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1352 First Ave. (at East 72nd Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1091 Lexington Ave. (at East 77th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1524 Second Ave. (at East 79th Street)
• Rite Aid at 1535 Second Ave (at East 80th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1235 Lexington Ave. (at East 84th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1524 Second Ave. (at East 79th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 401 East 86th St.
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1231 Madison Ave. (at East 89th Street)
• Walgreens/Duane Reade at 1675 Third Ave. (at East 94th Street)
• Rite Aid at 1849 Second Ave (at East 96th Street)

All five pharmacies are offering the Moderna vaccine, according to the city's COVID-19 Vaccine Finder map.

The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program will deliver 26,500 vaccine doses a week to Walgreens, Duane Reade, Costco and Rite Aid pharmacies across New York City, officials announced Thursday.

"Pharmacies are a trusted part of our infrastructure, particularly for seniors who rely on them for medications and other services," Dave Chokshi, the city's health commissioner, said in a statement. "These additional doses will be a lifeline for so many city residents."

Other vaccine sites are also open around the Upper East Side, including at city hospitals and medical clinics. Eligible New Yorkers can book vaccine appointments online at vaccinefinder.nyc.gov.
