UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The tallest building on the Upper West Side just posted two massive duplex penthouse units on the market that are located at the very top of the controversial tower.

On Thursday, the building launched its Penthouse collection, a series of 10 luxurious units that start on the 41st floor of the building. The stars of the collection are the two top units, both duplex penthouses that go from the 49th to 50th floor and then the 51st to 52nd floor that building developers are asking $38 and $40 million for, respectively.

The 6,500-square-foot top floor penthouses come fully equipped with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two powder rooms, private outdoor spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a glass staircase.

Despite the penthouse collection getting unveiled on Thursday, the first full-floor penthouse reportedly sold at the embattled Upper West Side property at the end of April, according to Mansion Global.

The luxury real estate website reported that the buyer purchased a three-bedroom penthouse for $17.5 million, which occupies the entire 47th floor of the 52-story building.

In the beginning of March, a court ruled that developers did not have to cut the 200 Amsterdam tower in half, and it would be able to finish its construction by the summer. For years, community members petitioned against the tower for its height compared to the rest of the neighborhood.

All the penthouse units at 200 Amsterdam would have been knocked down if the court ruled in the opposite favor.
