Developer Plans 11-Story Upper West Side Apartment Building

The new development will be built on West 106th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A developer that operates a number of apartment buildings near Columbia University has filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct an 11-story apartment building on the Upper West Side, according to city records.

COSO Apartments is planning to build the 115-foot-tall building at 123 West 106th Street, located between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues, according to building plans filed with the city. The new building will have 48 apartment units and 35,933 square feet of building space zoned for residential use.

Planned amenities in the new building include an exercise room, a laundry room, bike storage and a lounge for residents, according to building plans.

The development site is currently occupied by a five-story residential building owned by COSO Apartments. Demolition plans for the existing building have not yet been filed with the city Department of Buildings.
