Joe DiMaggio's Former Upper West Side Penthouse Hits Market
The Yankee legend's former West End Avenue penthouse is asking $4.5 million.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side penthouse Joe DiMaggio called home for years has hit the market at an asking price of $4.5 million, according to a real estate listing.
The penthouse at 400 West End Avenue — a co-op building also known as The Wexford — boasts "glorious river views with sunset vistas to the west, and views of the George Washington Bridge to the north," according to real estate firm Brown Harris Stevens.
DiMaggio lived in the penthouse when he recorded a hit in 56 consecutive games during the 1941 season — a record which still stands today — according to the real estate listing. DiMaggio played for 13 seasons during his illustrious career with the New York Yankees in which he earned the nickname "The Yankee Clipper."

Other than its famous former tenant the 2-bedroom, 2-and-a-half bathroom penthouse features a 1,300-square-foot wrap terrace and amenities such as a 24-hour doorman and resident manager and access to laundry and bike storage, according to the listing. The Wexford building, located on West End Avenue between West 78th and 80th streets, is located just one block from Riverside Park.
