NYC Legend Dr. Zizmor Sells Upper West Side Pad

New York City's most famous dermatologist sold his West 86th Street apartment for about $1.5 million.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side has been home to countless celebrities over the years. But the neighborhood is about to lose a true New York legend.

Dr. Jonathan Zizmor, the retired dermatologist who adorned the New York city subway with rainbow-colored advertisements that promised "now you can have clear beautiful skin," has agreed to sell his West 86th Street apartment for just under $1.5 million, according to city records.

City real estate records listed a Melissa Weiner as the apartment's buyer. The Zizmor's 10th floor apartment was located in an 200 West 86th Street, a 19-story, art-deco style condo building with hundreds of units.

While now obsolete, a listing for the apartment's contained language reminiscent to Zizmor's over-the-top subway ads. The listing described the condo building as "Da Bomb" and told prospective buyers to "pinch yourself; opportunity knocks with this picture perfect pad in need of polish and pizzazz."

After the good doctor's retirement in 2016, the subway — and world in general — had been lacking that Zizmor charm.

The real estate market has been good to Zizmor recently. In addition to selling the West 86th Street apartment, Zizmore and his wife sold their Bronx mansion for just more than $3 million, Curbed reported.
