Plans Filed For 14-Story Morningside Heights Apartment Building
The new building will contain 80 apartment units.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — Developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct a new 14-story apartment building in Morningside Heights.
The new development will rise 129-feet-tall on West 120th Street between Morningside Drive and Amsterdam Avenue, according to building plans. The building site is located just blocks away from Columbia University's main campus.
The new building will be 63,639 square feet large with 54,336 square feet zoned for residential use, according to development plans. With 80 planned apartments, the average unit will be about 679 square feet.

Planned amenities include a fitness center, storage, a study, a laundry facility a lounge and more, according to building plans. Most of the amenities will be located in a basement floor of the building. Each of the building's floors will hold six apartments except for the top floor, which will have five.
The development site is currently vacant. Demolition plans for a six-story building on the site were filed in 2016.
