Upper West Side Condo Remains City's Priciest: Report

With eights sales in the past year averaging $6,045 per square foot, 15 Central Park west is the most expensive condo building in the city.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — After an impressive year in sales, an Upper West Side condo building was once again named the most expensive in New York City.

With eight sales and an average sales price of $6,045 per square foot, 15 Central Park West earned the top spot on the annual CityRealty 100 report published this week. The condominium building, located between West 61st and 62nd streets, had an average sale price $503 per square foot more expensive than the next building on the list.

The building's top sale was a $29.5 million purchase of a 4-bedroom unit on the 14th floor, according to the Cityrealty report. The transaction was the city's seventh most expensive by overall price and the fourth most expensive in price per square foot at $7,077 per square foot. Another standout includes an eighth floor apartment that went for $6,181 per square foot.

With an compound annual sales growth rate of 7 percent, 15 Central Park West was also named the top price gainer in the past decade, according to the CityRealty report.

CityRealty's top five was rounded out by Midtown's super-tall 432 Park Avenue, Chelsea's Walker Tower on West 18th Street and two Columbus Circle buildings, the Residences at the Mandarin Oriental and the Trump International Hotel & Tower, according to the report.
