2 Children Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Nassau
A 74-year-old woman was arrested after fleeing the scene Tuesday afternoon.

SEAFORD, NY — A woman is accused of leaving the scene of after hitting two children with her car, Nassau police said.
The children, ages 8 and 12, were attempting to cross Washington Avenue near Pittsburgh Avenue in Seaford at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Before getting to the other side of the street, a blue Lexus struck them, police said.

The siblings suffered bruises and contusions to their arms and legs. Their mother refused medical attention, detectives said.
The driver of the Lexus, 74-year-old Georgette Maksym, fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Maksym was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on Sept. 1.
