2 Passengers Wet, But Not Hurt As Boat Overturns In Wantagh: PD

WANTAGH, NY — A sailboat got caught in a strong gust and their vessel overturned near Wantagh Park, Nassau police said.

An adult man and woman were passengers on the 14-foot Capri boat Wednesday morning in the vicinity of the Bellmore Channel. When the wind wrestled the boat, it sent them into the water. They were located near the vessel by the police's Marine 1 unit.

The passengers refused medical attention. The boat is in tow at Wantagh Park Marina, police said.
