Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Meet Gene Wilder!

Gene Wilder is looking for a new home. Will you give it to him?

Meet Patch's Adoptable Pet of the Week, courtesy of the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. This week's furry friend is Gene Wilder (the cat, not the actor).

Gene Wilder (the cat, not the actor) is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair cat, who has been neutered. According to the shelter, he was surrendered by family after his previous owner died.

The shelter staff said that Gene Wilder (the cat) gets along great with other cats. He's very vocal and loves to be pet.

"As the largest municipal animal shelter on Long Island, there are plenty of opportunities to give a loving cat or dog a forever home," said Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen. "Saving one pet may not change the world, but it will surely change that pet's world forever."
