The flooding could be severe at times and lead to road closures. Get ready now.

The National Weather Service is warning residents along the South Shore in Nassau County to be prepared for possible flooding Thursday night.
According to the NWS, the flood warning is in effect from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday morning. The rest of Nassau, New York City and most of western Suffolk are under a Coastal Flood Advisory.
The National Weather Service says that, for southern Nassau, tides could be one to two feet higher than normal, which could cause flooding on vulnerable shoreline areas, and even road closures.
