Flood Advisory Issued For Nassau County

BREAKING: High tides coinciding with heavy rain will increase the flooding threat for coastal areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Nassau County as heavy rain lashes the region Monday morning.

The advisory is in effect until 11:30 a.m. A flood advisory is issued when flooding is imminent or occurring, generally within the next one to three hours, but is not expected to substantially threaten life and property.

"With high tides coinciding with the heavy rain across the advisory area in the next couple of hours, the urban
flood threat could be exacerbated for low lying locales," the advisory says.
