Fourth of July 2021 Fireworks At Jones Beach: Things To Know

The annual holiday display was canceled last year because of COVID-19.

WANTAGH, NY — There will be fireworks this July 4 at Jones Beach.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the Independence Day celebration is returning to the famed shoreline area after cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. on the 4th. This year, WALK 97.5 FM and KJOY-98.3 FM will simulcast music during the fireworks presentation.

Drivers will be charged a $10 special event fee. The usual parking fee will change to a “special event” fee at 4 p.m. Tuesday. New York State’s seasonal Empire Pass will be accepted.

"Thanks to the hard work and dedication of New Yorkers in beating back the virus, we are able to enjoy these summer traditions once again," Cuomo said in a statement. "I encourage all New Yorkers to gather with their loved ones this Independence Day for these spectacular shows that celebrate our freedom, as well as the perseverance we have shown as a state throughout this."
