Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

There is the potential for another powerful nor'easter to strike the island on the first day of spring.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

A coastal storm next week could potentially produce strong winds, heavy precipitation in the form of rain and snow, and coastal flooding Tuesday through Wednesday night. The levels of impact and timing remain highly uncertain at this time.

"The details with timing, magnitude and track of this storm system will be very important in determining when much of the precipitation will fall, how much wintry precipitation there will be, as well as the magnitudes of wind and potential coastal flooding," the NWS's New York office wrote in a forecast discussion Friday night.
