Long Island Weather: More Storms On The Way

See photos/videos of wild flooding on the island on this weekend and the latest stormy forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island for Monday and Tuesday. "Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms today will be capable of producing isolated flash flooding," the outlook says. "There is at least an isolated risk for flash flooding on Tuesday with the additional development of heavy showers and thunderstorms."

The storms will come following a weekend that saw some areas of the island get hit with serious flooding.

Check out this video News 12 reporter Jackie Lukas posted on Facebook of flooding in Northport Saturday morning:

Flooding appeared to be isolated on Saturday, but Sunday was another story. A powerful line of storms caused flash flooding in numerous towns, especially on Nassau's South Shore. More than 2 inches of rain fell in North Bellmore in 40 minutes, trapping "multiple" drivers in their cars on flooded roadways, the National Weather Service says. There were also reports of people stuck in their cars in Merrick and East Meadow.

The good news in the forecast: dry weather will finally return on Wednesday. See the full forecast below.
