Holiday Spectacular to Light Up Jones Beach With 'Extreme Sports' Theme

Jones Beach Holiday Lights Spectacular will feature 2.5 miles of holiday scenery.

The Holiday Lights Spectacular is returning to Jones Beach later this month with a “Santa meets extreme sports” theme to get Long Islanders into the holiday spirit.

The 2.5 miles of holiday scenery will illuminate the west end of Jones Beach while holiday carols play through car radios from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3.

Spectators will catch a glimpse of Santa and his gang on ziplines and inner tubes while they perform daring stunts in the North Pole. Traditional light displays will be mixed with more extreme displays, including Old Saint Nick loaded up in a giant slingshot.

In addition to driving through a winter wonderland of over 150 light displays, this iconic holiday tradition will feature a Holiday Village with local school choir performances, holiday music and refreshments, a Hay Maze, and pictures with Santa Claus.

Hours of the The Holiday Lights Spectacular are:

  • Sunday to Thursday from dusk to 10 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday from dusk to 11 p.m.

The show will be closed on the following dates: Nov. 23, 24, 30 and Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14, and 31. Check out the full calendar here.

Holiday light show ticket prices:

  • Monday through Friday: $20 for cars
  • Friday through Sunday and holidays: $25 for cars
  • 15+ passenger van: $30
  • School bus: $50
  • Commercial/Coach bus: $75

Anyone attending the light show before Dec. 30 can purchase a groupon for a $15 ticket.

The Holiday Lights Spectacular officially returned to Jones Beach in 2014 after state budget cuts turned off the lights in 2007.
