Jones Beach Named One Of The Best Family Beaches In Country
As the most popular beach on the East Coast, it's no surprise it's a great destination for families.
Jones Beach was named one of the Best Beaches for Families for 2017 by Family Vacation Critic.
The website was looking for beaches that gave families a chance to get away and relax. "...With the convenience of calm, lifeguard-protected waters; restrooms/showers; and nearby attractions," they wrote. And Jones Beach meets all the requirements.
Family Vacation Critic cited the many family friendly activities that Jones Beach has to offer: the boardwalk, the playgrounds and the mini-golf course. There's also the shallow Zach's Bay, which the site says is perfect for new swimmers. The amphitheater and nature center are also big draws.

Locals will know that it's really no surprise that Jones Beach made the list. With 6.5 miles of ocean-facing beach, Jones Beach is the most popular beach on the East Cost, getting more than 6 million visitors a year. And while parking can sometimes be a hassle, it's usually worth it for the beautiful waterfront.
