List: Hundreds Of Wantagh, Seaford Businesses Took Out PPP Loans

Data released Monday shows hundreds of Wantagh and Seaford businesses took out loans under the federal Paycheck Protection Program.

WANTAGH-SEAFORD, NY — Hundreds of businesses in Wantagh and Seaford took out small and large loans as part of the federal Paycheck Protection Program, which was created to help them continue paying workers amid the coronavirus pandemic, data released Monday showed.

The U.S. Small Business Administration released details on individual loans doled out under the program, commonly known as PPP. The data looked at loans taken out that amounted to more than $150,000, as well as those that took out loans of less than $150,000.

Overall, loans of over $150,000 accounted for nearly 75 percent of the money approved, officials said. That data includes business names, addresses, industry and ZIP codes, business type, demographic data, nonprofit information, lender name, jobs supported and loan amount ranges.

For all loans below $150,000, the federal government did not disclose individual business names or addresses.

Large Loans

Wantagh saw 49 loans taken out of at least $150,000, records showed. That number was 20 in Seaford.

No company in either municipality took out loans of between $5 million and $10 million, the highest bracket. However, one Wantagh company and two Seaford companies took out loans between $2 million and $5 million, the second-highest bracket. They were: Gramercy Croup, JCM Commercial Business Solutions and The Hagedorn Little Village School. The businesses indicated a combined 655 jobs would be retained.

Moreover, four companies took out loans of between $1 million and $2 million, three of which were in Wantagh. They were: Hassett Lincoln Mercury Sales, Merrick Motors, P.L.U.S. Group Homes and Universe Appliance Repairs. The businesses indicated a combined 430 jobs would be retained.

Small Loans

In Seaford, 293 businesses took out loans for under $150,000. That number was 467 for Wantagh. The loans ranged from as low as $14 all the way up to $149,110. The median small loan was $20,832.
