Man Punched Girlfriend During Wantagh Domestic Dispute: Police

An investigation revealed the 24-year-old man was in possession of an illegal gun at his home.

WANTAGH, NY — A man was taken into custody for a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend. David Stockdale, 24, of Long Beach, got into a physical altercation, punching the woman several times in the face, Nassau police said.

The 24-year-old victim was treated at the scene, while her 4-year-old child was present.

Stockdale was arrested Saturday without further incident. A search warrant of his home revealed an illegal .45 caliber gun in his possession, detectives said.

He faces charges of criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, police said in a news release. Stockdale was expected to be arraigned Sunday.
