Meet Patch's Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Poppy!
This senior kitty is looking for his forever home. Will it be with you?

Meet Patch's adotable pet of the week, courtesy of the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. This week's pretty kitty is Poppy!
Poppy is a senior cat who came to the shelter as a stray, and very skinny. He was nursed back to health at a foster home and is now looking for a place to live. Poppy is very affectionate and loves to be held. He is OK with kids if they're gentle.
The shelter says Poppy is calm, but gets playful if you start dangling a toy in front of him. He loves fluffy beds and lying in the sun, and is litter box trained.

"As the largest municipal animal shelter on Long Island, there are plenty of opportunities to give a loving cat or dog a forever home," said Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen. "Saving one pet may not change the world, but it will surely change that pet's world forever."
If you're interested in adopting Poppy, or any of dozens of other cats and dogs, visit the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter at 3320 Beltagh Ave. in Wantagh. For more information, call (516)785-5220 or visit the shelter's website.
