Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Site Comes To Wantagh

Vaccinations, either walk-up or by appointment, are available for residents from noon to 6 p.m.

WANTAGH, NY — Those looking to join the vaccinated can head to a Town of Hempstead Vaxmobile in Wantagh today.

The Town of Hempstead and Mount Sinai South Nassau are running the region's first mobile vaccination unit.

It's available for people from noon to 6 p.m. at 2020 Wantagh Avenue.

Walk-ups are allowed, although there is a limited supply of doses on hand, the Oceanside hospital posted on their Facebook page.

Appointments are encouraged at 516 812-3678. Residents can also fill out a form online for the shot.

The town is offering additional pop-up vaccination sites this week in Elmont, Lawrence and Freeport.
