Over 100 Wantagh High-Schoolers Honored As AP Scholars

WANTAGH, NY — Over 100 Wantagh High School students have been recognized as Advanced Placement Scholars for their exceptional achievement on the May 2020 national exams.

Students who score at least a 3 on AP course final exams can earn college credit. Below are the numbers for Wantagh High School:

• Forty-six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving at least a 3 on three or more exams.
• Thirty-five students received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams.
• Twenty-seven students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average grade of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on five or more of these exams.
• Abigail Colaco, Justin Reisert, Timothy Ross and Athena Yao in the Class of 2020 were also recognized as National AP Scholars after having scored 4 or better on five or more AP exams and an average of 4 on all AP exams taken.
• Additionally, 13 Class of 2020 graduates received an AP Capstone Diploma and one student received an AP Seminar and Research Certificate. Fifteen seniors in the Class of 2021 qualified to receive an AP Capstone Diploma and 19 seniors have qualified to receive an AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
