Today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. So why not give a furry friend a new forever home today?

April 30 is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. So why not make your home a happier place by adopting Linx?
According to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Linx is an adult Boxer mix that was found as a stray running loose on Sunrise Highway. He was brought to the shelter, and is now ready to find his forever home.
The workers as the shelter say that Linx is everything you could want in a dog: he is friendly, playful and super adorable, too.

"As the largest municipal animal shelter on Long Island, there are plenty of opportunities to give a loving cat or dog a forever home," said Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen. "Saving one pet may not change the world, but it will surely change that pet's world forever."
If you're interested in adopting Linx, or any of dozens of other cats and dogs, visit the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter at 3320 Beltagh Ave. in Wantagh. For more information, call (516)785-5220 or visit the shelter's website.
