'Plowable Snow' Possible Next Week; Flooding Concerns First
A snowstorm may be on the way as nearly 10,000 power outages and flooding concerns remain from a nor'easter.

Alright, March, we get it. You are a lion. And that lion will continue to roar as the National Weather Service says there's the potential for "a plowable snow" come the middle of next week.
But first we will be dealing with some pretty serious coastal flooding concerns into Sunday thanks to the nor'easter that clobbered Long Island Friday.
A coastal flood warning will be in effect from 7 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday for southern Nassau County. Coastal flood advisories will be in effect for the rest of the island during periods of high tide Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Elevated water levels and breaking waves of 4-8 feet will also likely result in significant beach erosion through Monday along the ocean beachfront, the NWS says.
As of 5:17 p.m. Saturday, PSEG Long Island says 9,140 of its customers are without power. Wind gusts approaching 70 mph on the island Friday knocked down numerous trees and power lines.

As far as the snow threat goes, Wednesday is the day to watch. The NWS is currently predicting snow and a snow/rain mix for the island most the day. No accumulation estimates have been released yet, but forecasters say "a plowable snow is possible."
