Wantagh And Seaford 2021 School Budget Vote Information

Here's what Wantagh and Seaford residents should know before they head to the polls Tuesday.

WANTAGH, NY — The Wantagh Union Free School District has proposed an $83.5 million school budget for 2021-2022. It would be an increase of $2.3 million from the previous year.

Residents will also decide whether to accept a tax levy increase of 3.8 percent when they vote on Tuesday.

The budget would see a hike in health insurance premiums by 3.4 percent, on average.

The district already sliced expenditures by more than $1 million with efforts that included the reduction of two full-time administrative positions.

Anthony Greco is running unopposed for the three-year term.

Voting hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Wantagh Elementary, Forest Lake Elementary, Mandalay Elementary schools.

In Seaford, the proposed budget has a tax levy increase of 1.49 percent. Overall, it would be $74.7 million, an increase of $1.7 million from the 2020-2021 budget.

Health insurance would rise by $705,000, while computers for BOCES would see $143,000 worth of equipment.

Andrea Parisi is running unopposed for the school board's three-year term.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Manor Elementary and the Seaford Harbor schools.
