Seaford H.S. Student Named SHIELD Winner
Natalie Villecco was honored for her community service and strong school work.

WANTAGH, NY — For having a strong dedication to community service, a Seaford High School junior received the prestigious SHIELD Award.
Natalie Villecco earned the honor that is given to the student who shows exceptional character, virtue and selfless service. It is presented by Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas, the Wantagh School District said in a statement.
Villecco was nominated by guidance counselor Frank Stazzone.

"With her excellent contributions inside and outside of school, my favorite aspect of Natalie is her kindhearted approach to life," Stazzone said in the statement. "She is extremely respectful, sincere and considerate to all she encounters. She has a drive to succeed, and it is so easy to support and encourage her to achieve all her goals in life. I am very proud of Natalie and believe the best is still yet to come for her."
Villecco has made the high honor roll for every quarter at Seaford High School and she's a member of the National Honor Society. She's also a versatile athlete as part of the school's basketball, volleyball and lacrosse teams. Plus, Villecco was a freshman cheerleader.

"I like to give back to my community and see how I can make it better for everyone," she said in the statement.
Among her community service activities include a cleanup of the Tackapausha Preserve, raising money for Baxter's Pet Pantry and Best Buddies social outings. In addition, Villecco handles social media for the high school library and has volunteered at a soup kitchen.
