Seaford High School Names New Assistant Principal

SEAFORD, NY — There's a new educator at Seaford High School.

Dr. Raphi Morey comes to Seaford with a decade of experience. He started as assistant principal on July 1 with Nicole Schnabel promoted to principal.

For the past nine years, Morey taught at Kingsborough Early College Secondary School in Brooklyn, the Seaford School District said.

He wore many hats, including social studies teacher, a department chair, and a technology learning coach.

Morey is a member of several professional organizations including the American Educational Research Association, the Long Island Council for the Social Studies and the School Administrators Association of New York State.

"I have quickly come to appreciate how much pride the community has in the high school," Morey said in a statement. "I’m excited to join a community that shows so much support for the school because it means the work we do in our building has a resounding effect throughout all of Seaford."

At Seaford High School, Morey will serve as the testing coordinator and as the liaison to the art, business, math, music and social studies departments, the district said. He will also oversee the sophomore and senior classes, among other responsibilities.
