Seaford Students Send Frontline Workers Some TLC In Care Packages
Over 100 packages were delivered. "It's our way of saying that we care."- Ava O'Keefe, Seaford Middle School 8th grader, Service Club member

SEAFORD, NY — A group of Seaford Middle School students recently put together over 100 care packages for frontline workers and first responders as their way of recognizing their work in the pandemic, Seaford School District officials said.
The Service Club, under the direction of advisers Amanda Smith and Julis Spellman, used funds from its budget to purchase care package items such as candy and snacks, Chapstick, hand lotion, hand sanitizer and small toys, according to a news release.
Eighth grader Ava O’Keefe said she and her fellow club members decided what items they wanted to include to brighten the day of those essential workers.

“It’s our way of saying that we care,” she added.
The care packages, which also included handwritten messages of appreciation, were distributed through family members of students and teachers who work as emergency medical technicians, firefighters, nurses and others on the frontline, district officials said.
