Patchy black ice possible into early Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service issued the following special weather statement for Long Island at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday:
TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING OVERNIGHT. PATCHY BLACK ICE IS POSSIBLE ON ROADWAYS THAT BECAME WET FROM FROM EARLIER PRECIPITATION. PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING TONIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
