Wantagh High Student Artists Honored by Long Island Arts Alliance
Wantagh senior Julia Sileo named scholar-artist for excellence in photography while Sam Hutt and Christina Imbro receive awards of merit.

Wantagh High School senior Julia Sileo was named one of 20 2015-2016 Scholar-Artists recognized by the Long Island Arts Alliance for having demonstrated excellence in photography.
In addition, Sam Hutt and Christina Imbro each received an Award of Merit for having demonstrated excellence in music and visual arts. The LIAA Scholar Artists Program is presented by the New York Community Bank Foundation and is produced in cooperation with Newsday. Awards are presented to students in the areas of visual arts, media, dance, photography, music and theatre.
To receive this designation, the student, as a senior, must be nominated by his or her high school and represent the highest level of artistic excellence. Applicants must also have maintained an unweighted grade point average of 90 percent or above.

Sileo submitted a portfolio of mostly portrait photography. In addition, Hutt submitted piano and trombone recordings, while Imbro entered a portfolio of abstract and realistic drawings.
