Wantagh Library Blood Drive Scheduled This Month
It's planned for July 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WANTAGH, NY — With a blood emergency declared in New York, residents are being called to help the delicate situation.
A blood drive is scheduled for July 23 at the Wantagh Library. Each donation will save up to three lives, the library said.
To donate, an identification card with a signature or photo is required. Anyone can give blood from ages 16-75 (16 year olds must have parental permission). For those 76 and older, a doctor's note is needed, the library said on its website.

Other criteria:
- Minimum weight is 110 lbs.
- Eat well (low fat) and drink fluids
- No tattoos for the past 12 months
The blood drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
