Wantagh School Budget Revote Passes
Voters approved the budget with a 1.9 percent tax levy increase.
WANTAGH, NY — Voters went back to the polls and this time approved the Wantagh Union Free School District budget, 2,950 - 1,213.
The $82.7 million budget has an increase of 1.8 percent compared to last year, the district posted on its website.
There will be a tax levy increase of 1.96%.

The Wantagh school budget was rejected on May 18 when it failed to reach the 60 percent threshold.
If the budget would have been struck down again, various programs would likely have to be shelved, including the elementary school's third-grade orchestra program and all middle school athletics, the district posted.
