Wantagh Student Infected With Coronavirus, Schools Close

WANTAGH, NY — A Wantagh High School student has been infected with the coronavirus, the district posted on their website, causing a district-wide closure on Friday.

New York authorities require school to be shut down for 24 hours after learning of a coronavirus infection.

The closure includes all before, after and evening activities.

School officials will determine whether to close schools later than Friday.

All school buildings will be disinfected again.

Officials will send updates throughout the weekend.

"We will get through this together," the message ended.
