Boarded-Up Wash Heights Building To Be Demolished: Permits Show
A building that has sat vacant and boarded up for years on a Washington Heights street is set to be demolished, according to permits.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Washington Heights building that has sat boarded-up and vacant for years will be demolished, according to permits filed with the city this week.
The three-story building at 509 West 167th Street has blighted the block since at least 2017, when Google Street View images first captured the boarded-up walls in front of the property.
Permits to demolish the 23-foot-tall residential property were filed last week with the city.

Tony Ordas is listed as the owner of the property under the 509 West 167th Street LLC name.
The vacant building sits on a 2,300-square-foot lot between Amsterdam Avenue and Audubon Avenue with 25-square-feet of a front area. There were construction permits filed in 2017, the year the building first became vacant, to build a six-story residential building with seven units.
