Plans Filed For New Medical Building In Washington Heights
The West 168th Street building will consist mainly of medical offices and a pediatric center.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A doctor has filed plans to construct a new six-story medical building on West 168th Street in Washington Heights.
The building plans were filed Monday by Marino Torres, a board certified pediatric doctor at New York Presbyterian hospital, according to documents submitted to the city Department of Buildings. The new development will rise 60-feet-tall at 505 West 168th Street, located between Amsterdam and Audubon avenues.
The building will contain a pediatric center and six floors of medical offices, according to building plans. Columbia University Medical Center is located just two blocks east of the new building, but there is no official evidence that the hospital and the new building will be affiliated.

Torres filed plans to build a six-story building containing mostly apartments on the same site in 2014, but the proposal was rejected by the Department of Buildings, according to the development plans.
Plans to demolish an existing one-story garage on the West 168th Street property were filed in December of 2016.
