Updated Plans Filed For 7-Story Washington Heights Development

The new development will be built on Broadway and Fairview Avenue.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A development firm behind a number of new buildings in Uptown Manhattan has filed new plans for a site on the corner of Broadway and Fairview Avenue.

HAP Investment Developer's new vision for the site is a seven-story apartment building rising 75-feet-tall and containing 129 apartment units, according to plans filed with the city Department of Buildings.

The 87,711-square-foot building would be zoned entirely for residential use and the average apartment would be about 679 square feet large, according to development plans. Planned residential amenities include a bicycle rooms, two recreation rooms and roof terrace access, according to the plans.

The development is HAP's third in upper manhattan and is known as HAP 7, according to the developer's website. The company has also developed properties in Harlem and Chelsea, according to its website.

Original plans filed with the Department of Buildings in 2013 were for a mixed-use building that rose eight stories and only contained 98 apartments. The development would have been a total of 109,200 square feet with 8,145 square feet zoned for commercial uses and 13,540 square feet zoned for a community facility.

Plans to demolish a one-story building on the site were filed in 2014.

The firm Fischer + Makooi Architect PLLC is listed as the designer of the new development.
