Dog Food Start-Up Coming To Greenwich Village: Report

The Farmer's Dog is moving into an office space in Greenwich Village, according to a report.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A start-up for dog food is leasing offices in Greenwich Village, Commercial Observer reported.

The Farmer's Dog, a subscription service for dog food, leased space on two floors at 214 Sullivan St., between Bleecker and West Third streets, the Observer reported.

The company will move into the fifth floor immediately and the fourth floor later this year, per the report.

The start-up has raised about $49 million in backing since 2014, according to the Observer.

It was founded by comedian Brett Podolsky, inspired by his rottweiler, Jada, Crain's New York Business reported in May.

Podolsky began learning how to make home-cooked meals for his pup after Jada faced health problems, Crain's wrote.

The Farmer's Dog cooks dog food in commercial kitchen, shipping various customizable meals across the country, per Crain's. With fresh beef, pork, turkey and vegetables, prices range up to $63 per week for a large dog.
