Greenwich Village ZIP Code Among Priciest In The United States
The 10012 ZIP code ranked within the top 100 most expensive in the country and was the sixth priciest in New York City.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A ZIP code in the Greenwich Village ranked among the country's 100 most expensive areas in 2020.
According to the annual study by Property Shark, released this week, Greenwich Village's and SoHo's 10012 ZIP code landed as the 58th most expensive ZIP code in the United States.
The study from the real estate data website found that the median sale price in the 10012 ZIP code was $1,785,000 in 2020. The figure makes it the sixth most expensive ZIP code in New York City.

The priciest ZIP code in New York City was Tribeca's 10007, which had a median home sale price of $3,150,000 in 2020.
One ZIP coded covering Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan saw the largest price drop of any in the country. The median sale price there was $1.56 million, almost a full million dollars less than the $2.52-million median the year before.

On the other hand, prices rose in some neighborhoods, like the Upper West Side, where a new luxury condo development helped the 10069 ZIP code shoot up by 42 percent this year — the nation's highest increase.
Property Shark put together the list by looking at residential transactions closed between Jan. 1, 2020, and Oct. 15, 2020.
