Here's How Much More Greenwich Village Apartments Cost In 2021

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY – Greenwich Village tenants are paying more for rent than they did in December 2020 – except for those who live in non-doorman studios – according to a new report.

A study from MNS on apartment prices in January 2021 shows that doorman one-bedroom units in Greenwich Village are up 3.9 percent from $4,478 in December 2020 to $4,653 in January 2021.

This is compared to the overall average for doorman one-bedroom units in Manhattan, which fell 1.28 percent, from $3,766 to $3,718. Year over year, the same units saw their average rental price decrease 17.63 percent.

According to the report, the average rent in Manhattan decreased 1.19 percent, from $3,456 in December to $3,415 in January.

Prices increased in a number of other areas in Greenwich Village, including for doorman studios (1.6 percent), doorman two bedrooms (0.6 percent), non-doorman one bedrooms (2.8 percent), and non-doorman two bedrooms (3.8 percent).

In Greenwich Village, prices decreased for non-doorman studios, which fell 1.7 percent in January.

The report is based on data from more than 10,000 available listings located below 125th Street and priced under $10,000.
