Morris Adjmi Architects to Design New Perry Street Mansion in West Village
The owner plans to demolish 3 older buildings to construct a 6-story residential building in their place.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — The owner of a lot with three neighboring buildings on Perry Street, William Gottlieb Real Estate, hired modern architect firm Morris Adjmi to design a new residential building in their place, YIMBY reported. William Gottlieb Real Estate bought the houses at 156-164 Perry St. over the past few years and now plans to build a six-story, 18-unit building on the property, according to an application it filed with the city last week. The buildings were all approved for demolition last week.
Amenities in the residential building will include parking for three cars, fitness center, bike storage, a laundry room, and a rooftop terrace, according to city documents.
There now are two townhouses that are each three stories tall, a one-story garage, and an additional two-story building.

Perry street is a massively trendy spot for new, modern developments.
There's already a new building at 166 Perry St., constructed in 2010, where supermodel Irina Shayk used to live. (Sorry, guys, she sold her place there in December.)Another townhouse in the same building was on the market for $7.5 million last year.

The 15-story Richard Meier towers, one at 176 Perry St. and the other across the street at 173 Perry St., are located one building over. Those two buildings were finished in 2002.
