The new building will have 37 new units at Elizabeth and Hester streets.

LITTLE ITALY, NY — A new seven-story residential building is slated to take the place of a parking garage at Elizabeth and Hester streets, according to city records.
The building owner of 52 Elizabeth St. filed permits for a seven-story, 37-unit building, according to Department of Buildings permits dated Sept. 23.
Records show the structure is currently a two-story parking garage in the Little Italy special district built in 1958.
