West Village House on Land Owned by Aaron Burr Asking $5.75 Million
The sellers are hoping Hamilton fandom will raise their offer.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — The "Hamilton" craze is so intense these days, real estate agencies are using the musical to hype up a house in which Aaron Burr, a character in the show, didn't even live. Burr resided on the property for sale at 17 Commerce St., but, in fact, the actual house he once lived in was torn down on the property and rebuilt in 1830.
The two-story, Federal-style house with two to three bedrooms, a study and a private garden, went on the market this week for $5.75 million, the New York Post reported.
The seller hopes Hamilton's popularity will raise the final offer; the last buyer of the house purchased it in 2013 for $4.48 million.

Burr killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and is a primary role in the popular musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It's worth mentioning that the site in Weehawken, New Jersey, where the famous duel occurred in 1804, sold for $6.2 million in 2014, according to the Post.
