2 Killed In Head-On Crash in Westhampton; Dog Hurt
An 89-year old North Fork man crossed into the opposite lane and caused the crash, police say. Our hearts go out to both families.
WESTHAMPTON, NY — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Westhampton Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the two-car collision took place at 2:08 p.m. on Montauk Highway near Tanners Neck Lane.
Christine Kebbe, 63, of Remsenburg was driving a 2008 Honda CRV eastbound on Montauk Highway with her dog when William Vogel, 89, of Cutchogue, driving a 2010 Honda Accord westbound on Montauk Highway reportedly crossed into Kebbe’s lane, causing the crash, police said.

CPR was being performed on both drivers as they were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where they were both pronounced dead, police said.
Kebbe’s dog was taken by Southampton Town animal control to receive medical treatment for injuries, police said.

The crash is still being investigated by Southampton Town Police Department's detective division to determine the exact cause, police said.
